The Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice (CCAEJ) is a progressive, base-building, non-profit organization bringing communities together to find opportunities for cooperation, agreement and problem solving in improving their social and natural environment. Using the lens of environmental health to achieve social change, we work within communities to develop and sustain democratically based, participatory decision-making that promotes involvement of a diverse segment of the community in ways that empower the community.
Art in Action - Community Centered Mural (Total Budget: $10,000)
The Center for Community Action and Environment Justice (CCAEJ) is a long-standing community-based organization in the Inland Region that works towards building healthy, safe and thriving communities through community empowerment strategies that seek social change through community centered public policies. Our organization seeks an Artist/Muralist Consultant to facilitate the creation of a community centered art project in the Inland Region. The art project will be guided by the community's knowledge of their neighborhoods and their vision of a healthy, sustainable, and thriving Inland Region. The artist/muralist consultant will work closely with organizers to facilitate creative listening sessions with the community and develop a collective, community centered mural in an Inland neighborhood impacted by air pollution.
Healing, Wellness, and Team Building (Total Budget: $5,500)
The Center for Community Action and Environment Justice (CCAEJ) is a long-standing community-based organization in the Inland Region. CCAEJ works towards building healthy, safe, and thriving social conscious communities via empowerment strategies and community-centered public policies. As CCAEJ embarks on a new chapter in its trajectory, opportunities have arisen to ensure its staff’s mental, physical and emotional well-being are taken care of. CCAEJ is committed to growing together through healing, mutual respect and solidarity.
Our organization seeks a Mental Health Specialist/ Consultant with expertise in developing a trauma-informed workplace by providing training, uplifting team building, authenticity and community building. We seek services in mental health, addressing workplace trauma, meditation, self-awareness, trauma healing and support, amongst others best practices. Through training and implementation of short and long term healing plans, the end result will be for staff to have the tools to begin dismantling of behaviors, outlooks and practices that may perpetuate ongoing trauma and will result in re-creating a vibrant, positive, inviting, safe and a healthy work culture for everyone.
