Tamara Marquez

Media Specialist

Tamara Marquez migrated from Mexico at the age of 13. She is a 4th year Media and Culture Studies Major and Spanish Major at UC Riverside. She is passionate about volunteering and being part of organizations that give back to the community, specifically to the undocumented community as she can relate to their struggle.

Tamara’s internships and current work experiences have encouraged her to pursue a career in the marketing industry or communications. After graduating she wants to work at a non-profit that helps the Inland Empire community.

Tamara wants to analyze and change the media in a way that it shows the world the beauty that exists within the immigrant communities and the strong communities that exist in the Inland Empire.

The mission of the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice is to bring people together to improve our social and natural environment. We do this by developing indigenous leadership, community organizing through strategic campaigns and building a base of community power.
