MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SATURDAY JUNE 11TH

The Citizens for the Chuckwalla Valley and the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice invite you to Desert Landscape: A Community Forum On Issues Affecting Our Desert Environment.

Among the confirmed speakers will be Penny Newman, Executive Director of CCAEJ, who was just awarded "WOMAN OF THE YEAR" in Sacramento. Penny will provide a presentation on perchlorate, rocket fuel, that has been widely detected in groundwater, water wells, produce, and BREAST MILK!

Joe Zarki, Chief of Interpretation Joshua Tree National Park, will present issues facing our magnificent National Park.

Alfredo Figueroa will share his 40 years of studying the Aztec Codices and what they mean to the Sacred Eagle Mountains.

Howard Gross, from National Parks Conservation Association, will discuss educational programs and issues involving our desert's most precious resource, Joshua Tree National Park.

Donna Charpied, from the Citizens for the Chuckwalla Valley, will provide an update on the Eagle Mountain dump and the Give It Back! campaign.

Mary Belardo, Former Councilwoman for the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indian Tribe, will speak on the Salton Sea.

Joyce Manley, a retired school teacher, will talk on the effect windmill farms have on our environment.
